A&D - Assisting Meag Breanne Events at Sea Ranch Lodge

This past weekend, I had the distinct privilege of supporting Meag Breanne Events at a beautiful, intimate wedding at Sea Ranch Lodge. The couple welcomed 80 of their closest family and friends to a seaside ceremony. The day started out foggy and cool, but as if on cue, the sun emerged, burning off the gloom and ensuring glorious sunlight for their ceremony and cocktail hour. Dinner was served with a thoughtful wine pairing, and the flowers provided the perfect tablescapes for this whimsical blue and yellow celebration. The party lasted late into the night with the couple’s favorite music and a glitter bar to give everybody a little extra glam.
As I begin my journey as wedding planner, I’m determined to learn from as many experts in the field as I can. I have rich experience in corporate events, but personal moments like these hold so much gravity for the couple and their families, many of whom have been waiting for this day their entire lives. That’s why I felt so lucky to work with Meag.
Meag is an expert event planner who knows how to make any moment at a wedding feel rich and thoughtful. Her secret sauce? Knowing that luxury lives in precision. She has exacting standards for how far a chair should be from the table, how a bowl should be placed on a plate, and how cutlery should sit within the tablescape. It all pays off when guests enter the room and are simply wowed by what they see. When every napkin sits at the same height and every place card is perfectly squared, it demonstrates the care the team put into getting it right.

I was recently binge-watching "The Gilded Age," an Americanized version of "Downton Abbey" by the same creators, and I was struck by how the families and house staff fussed over the minutia of an evening. The house’s thoughtfulness was an indication of their respect for their guests. They anticipated their needs and preferences without prompting. They surprised and delighted them with unexpected amenities. In wedding planning, we fuss over the details because they matter. You can tell when a place setting has been sloppily put together, and that is not something Meag will ever abide. I hope to emulate her dedication to precision and appreciation for consistency in the weddings I’m planning for this coming year.
This Saturday, I learned what makes a reception truly great, how to make a space flow, and how to direct guests using thoughtful design. I saw that, while luxury certainly comes through in the materials you use, it also—and arguably more so—comes through in how well you can design a beautiful place setting and repeat it uniformly across the entire event. There is no amount of money that can replace the value generated by taking time, slowing down, and making sure you get it right.
It was an honor to work with Meag and my fellow assistant, Avery. I had so much fun helping to put together this wedding for Alexis and Derek, and I can't wait to do more. I do hope a client brings me back to Sea Ranch Lodge soon!
